Hongjiang district lies in the south part of Huaihua city, which is in the west of Hunan province. Locating at bridgehead of our country’s middle part growing up and west part developing, it is an auld industrial base of Huaihua city. The transportation is convenient, because the Shangrui expressway traverse Hongjiang from east to west, and two Yuanjiang Bridges connect the new and old zone with expressway. Hundreds years since Ming dynasty, Hongjiang is an important commercial port in southwest of Hunan at all times, it aslo honoured as the “little Nanjing” and “bright pearl of Xiangxi”. It covers an area of 115 square meters, has a population of 80,000 people, and is administratively divided into four street office and three village demotic government.
Hongjiang has 3,000 years centuries-old history, it was posthouse, commercial port at one-time. Because the water carriages of Yuan and Wu are convenient, Hongjiang has become a tremendous town with myriad twinkling lights. In the first 50th years last century, it was one of nine cities administered by Hunan province, in the end 70th years when innovation and opening is earlier, Hongjiang and Huaihua both were two towns of Huaihua region. But after coming into new century, it was confirmed as a district administered by Huaihua city.
Brief introduction of Hongjiang district can recapitulatively be: landscape town, ancient commercial town, old industrial town and new touring town.
Ⅰ. Landscape town: beautiful and advantaged scenery!
Songyun mountain, Laoya slope, Tianzhu apex, Miyan tine, Nanyue mountain and many hill apexes form an annular cordillera, all of which are vouchsafed by nature, the beautiful pearl Hongjiang always locates in it. The water surfaces of Hongjiang hydroelectric station, Anjiang hydroelectric station and Yuliangwan hydroelectric station like bright mirrors shine upon the green mountains and ancient town. A city with picturesque scenery must make tourists on the scoop, a fertile soil for investment must make investors strut their stuff.
Ⅱ. Ancient commercial town: infrequent and sole place!

It is honoured by many senior experts as a “Qing Ming Shang He Tu” which reflects society scene of Ming and Qing dynasty, as a textbook which can explain capitalistic germination in our country, as an active museum which contains politics, military affairs, economy, religion and culture.
Ⅲ. Old industrial town: coruscating vital force!
If it is sayed, hundreds years since Ming dynasty, Hongjiang is an important commercial port in southwest of Hunan at all times, and it was honoured as the “little Nanjing”, well then, after liberation, especially after innovation and opening up, the industry economy of Hongjiang has great developed. So it has become an important industrial town in Xiangxi and a industrial base of Huaihua. in the new century, Hongjiang’s Working council, People’s congress, Administration council and Political negotiation committee study out and actualize a developing tactic, which is “industry strengthens Hongjiang, privatation blossoms Hongjiang, tourism activates Hongjiang”. There are 134 industrial enterprises in Hongjiang, the annual total production value is RMB 1.2 billion yuan, the practitioners are more than 23,000. Ⅳ. New touring town: has tremendous potential and infinite value!
Hongjiang has abundant touring resource which takes the Ancient commercial town as head. Yuanjiang and Wushui converge in the centre of the city zone, the beauty spot of Songyunshan and the water surface of hydroelectric station reflect each other, the forest rate covers over 60﹪, what a beautiful landscape and pleasant climate! Cellars of Ming and Qing dynasty, big Buddha temple, Zaixing Buddhist temple, Xiongxi Park, Tianzhu apex and other landscapes connect a touring line, has been added into Xiangxi touring economy circle, in particular, its south part abuts Guilin, west part abuts Zhangjiajie and south Great Wall of Fenghuang, so the annual total quantities of visitors will be over 500,000. Hunan Tianyi touring investment company will invest RMB 1.2 billion yuan for exploiting and constructing the landscapes.
